Day 39:11 Construction - Enviroment

Want to skip the history? - Scroll down to the black text.

...Summer 2011
The summer family spent in deep in the forests of Värmland. I was after all in much better condition than before CCSVI. It was nice to regain some of the spark of life. I think it's fun to build and construct. Now I did complete some small projects that have been started but not completed. For me it has always been important to clear the brain completely other tasks. It gives new energy and new creativity.

Through the years I have acquired the tools and machinery needed most of the tasks that need to be resolved. Whether it be painted, welded, salvaged, transported, towed or build, I have the tools needed.

For many years I had teased me on the lawn in front of the house. The lawn was leaning more than one meter. Long tables are tilted alarmingly. No one wanted to sit at the end of the table. Least of all the kids. They knew what would happen later in the evening. Many litres of vodka had landed on the lawn and knees over the years. After each crayfish party all guests smelled as bad as what was left in the waste bags the day after.

Terrace
Easter 2005, I got an idea. I'm will build a terrace. Then the problem is solved. I made a drawing on a napkin. I figured out how much lumber was needed. The order became a full truck with materials. It was several thousand feet timber and  10,000 screws. The casting went for 30 sacks concrete. The only tool I was missing was a concrete mixer, it was resolved with a large whisk in the drill.

I went up to the forrest myself and started building. The result was a terrace of 160 square meters and a large conservatory.

I was one week by myself and start the building. I just eat build and sleep. It was very nice to be on my own.

There was quite a lot of work to build everything with loose timber from the beginning. I had to solve problems when they arise.

I was obviously not ready in one week, but the foundation was laid.

Later I got the help of my brother, and my son and son in-law when I mounted glass partitions and ceilings.

It was probably at the last minute I did that project. Today I can not perform that type of project physically. I could sit on a chair and play supervisors, but it's not the same. It's much more fun to do it yourself. That's the whole chain, from concept to finished project that attracts me. I want to be with. My hands will work.

Fucking MS. ;(

Closing dinner
Yesterdays dinner at Operakällaren was very good. The whole team from they buying party, me and my partner was in place. I told the waiter to inform the kitchen about my diet restrictions. The dinner was seven dishes, all of them was top of the line.  The wine list composed to the dishes was excellent.
There was just two problems. I was not aloud to eat any of the dishes or drink any of the wine. I had to admit, I was cheating. I tasted a tablespoon of every wine. I did try the taste of most of the plates. I was served a somewhat smaller menu...

Everybody laugh at my dessert. One strawberry.

Car

The old 7 seat Audi is to big now when the kids has moved from home. The car is old, it start to be expensive to maintain and service. It also use a lot of diesel.

Bad for the environment.

The new one is a Lexus fully loaded with batteries. Better for the nature.

Me and my youngest daughter went to the airport to pick up the eldest daughter living in Munich. She is coming and visit us with her boyfriend over the weekend.

The last days I had to use the crutch in the afternoon again. My schedule this week has been to compressed. I can´t keep this hi load any more. I need time to rest between different tasks.

Now it is time for a glass of wi... and rest. I mean fresh press carrot juice.

No I am lying, wine.

Day 38 : 10 Drugs in Oslo - Drugs in me

Want to skip the history? - Scroll down to the black text.

...June 2011, Oslo
I went to Oslo in mid-June to lecture the Norwegian police and the Norwegian authorities. They have the same problems in Oslo we had in Stockholm ten years ago. The lecture was about how we in Stockholm had cooperated in the fight against narcotics and crime . The Norwegians had the same problems that we experienced in Sweden ten years earlier. They are smart, why reinvent the wheel themselves, they wanted to learn how we had been working to solve the problems in Stockholm.

In Stockholm, we have since 1995 worked on guidelines for responsible alcohol service in restaurants. STAD. (Stockholm Prevents Alcohol and Drug Problems) The project started as a research, now is the business permanently. In the project, there was a number of restaurant owners, trade organizations, police, unions, State and Government agencies that had the Government to deal with the alcohol issue.

The mission was to reduce alcohol-related harm in the community. The work was very successful. The working model reduced problems with over-serving, serving to minors and violence in the restaurant environment significantly. The step was not far to the drug issue. The project started in 2002. Now, ten years later, it is much quieter in our workplaces. Drug Affected guests and employees is today a relatively rare sight. Weapons in the restaurant environment is very unusual 2013. In the late 90's it was relatively common.

Restenosis...
The lecture went well. It was no problem to be on stage for an hour and lecturing in English. Memory and cognition worked like a clock. I was admittedly a bit tired in the afternoon, but it was not so strange. On my way back home to Sweden, when I was about to miss the train to the airport, I got the next real restenosis experience. The legs did not want to hurry. The same feeling as in Brazil a few weeks earlier. I caught the train, but had to fight properly to walk at the airport. There is a very long way to the gates at Gardemoen airport. When I got on the plane I almost fell asleep, even though I ate Modiodal.

When I came home in the evening after the Oslo trip, I was worried. Is MS symptoms coming back, or is it relapses again?

Today
When I write about history from June 2011 it strikes me suddenly. Dennis you are nibbling too drugs. Modiodal to keep you awake. I have also tried Sativex against spasticity in my legs. Both drugs works and helped me. The problem is with my ideology and the side effects. I hate narcotics and and drug-related harm. I have not had any drugs since January. I do not think I will take any more doses in the rest of my life.

It has been a good day at work today. No big issues, everything went smooth. I am changing car tomorrow. The old one was picked up by Tidy-Car for reconditioning yesterday night. The man told me I could use his car. He left the car key and drove away in my car. When I would go to work this morning I saw the car I had borrowed. An Opel Astra of unknown age with 180.000km on the meter. The car started, when I tried put in the drive, I saw it was manually shifted. Left leg governed not so good. With the help of my arm, I managed to get the clutch to work. Hopefully no neighbours saw my journey this morning.

A while after I parked at work, a colleague says, who the hell has parked a stolen car in our parking?

I will call the police.

I can still feel the smell from the car in my clothes.

I go and take a shower now. We shall have closing dinner after this weeks deal tonight. Back to work!

Day 37 : 9 Earth is round - Legs...

Want to skip the history? - Scroll down to the black text.

... May 2011, landed in Bahia, Brazil party IV

We had some really beautiful days at the beach. The flight and car ride had gone to bed with my wife. She spoke again. We stayed at Sage Point. It is a poussanda is a illegal building on the beach in the trees. Our room was 20 feet up in a tree. To get up there it was a wobbly spiral staircase around a tree. As my status is today in 2013, I would have been very difficult to take me up there. Down will always work.

The tide is more than a meter, so the beach five meters from
the staircase was cleaned every morning. The waves were 10 feet high. The noise when they broke against the shore was almost deafening. But even so relaxing.

Re-stenos
One of the days we decided to take a walk into the village. It is just over two kilometres. The road is covered with centuries-old cobblestones. Uneven and bumpy. In the current situation, I could not cross the road without crutches. When we come into the village says the legs stop. We had to sit down in a café and rest.

I sit and think, Shit, the legs stop obeying. My wife realized that we could not go back again. Across the street was a motorcycle rental. We looked at each other and nodded.

Our transportation problem was solved. We went bike back and forth through the village and on various excursions. I was a bit worried about balance. It had not been possible to ride two-wheeler before my surgery in Poland. The balance was low for a while. I could not lift my leg over the saddle. Now, in all cases, it is possible. The legs might just been tired after everything consistently?

The earth is round
A friend in Brazil has an incredibly beautiful summer house in Bahia. His beach front are several hundred acres. The house is located on a hill about two kilometres from the sea. The view of the Atlantic Ocean over 180 degrees. As I stood on the terrace and looked out, I can see with the naked eye that the earth is round. Powerful.

After a delicious lunch, then we went by quads down to his beach. It runs a small river across his land. It empties into the sea. We swam there in the afternoon. The water in the river was around 35-40C and the sea refreshed with its 32C.

Itacaré

A day before the journey home, my wife stopped to talk again. I knew it was the flight from Ilhéus as haunted. I told her that I understood why she not wanted to go home. It certainly did not either!

When you are in paradise, it is easy to forget about MS.  ☺

Today Today my planning has been working excellent. No stress and good time between meetings. The delayed closing from yesterday is closed today. Everybody is happy, and everything went smooth.

I had meetings on three places, and I had to stock some organic and allowed items. I have been searching for black wild-rice for almost two weeks.

Today I found it. I order 3 kg, and the shop rob me on 80 Euro. ;)
Gangster!

Legs...
I have a problem to walk again. I had to use the crush in the afternoon. Stress is devastating for my walk. I have to take it easy and have a good time between tasks. I also need time for rest. Diet has made me much more alert. Stem Cell research requires that I quit the MS brake medicine. It feels good that my body is detoxified now.

I only eat Fampyra to improve the mobility. I forgot to take Fampyra a day on my rehab in Poland. Then Dagmara was worried, why was my preformance so much worse?

I will continue with my MS history tomorrow. I have been at work all day. I need to rest...

Today
It has been a hard day at work. I was trying to close a deal. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Not only that, the salmon I had in my lunch box was poor. The only food I had before 19:30 was a pear and a Nutrilett Chocolate. In the afternoon, I had to use the crutch again. I could barely walk.

Hunger
Anyway, everything worked out during the evening. I've just eaten a big salad with tenderloin at Vapiano. The energy crisis has subsided.

The order is restored. Tomorrow is a new day.

Day 35 : 7 Brazil - Segway

Want to skip the history? - Scroll down to the black text.

... May 2011, landed in Bahia, Brazil part III
There is a small private airstrip just 50 km from Ilhéus, we try to land there the pilot said in the speakers. My wife was by now white in her face, and cold sweating. The landing went well, but where the hell were we? I had ordered a car to collect us this morning in Ilhéus. There is no risk that the car would be in place nine hours later in the jungle.

Baggage pick-up
We walk off the plane on a gravel pitch. Then an overloaded hay-cart with our bags. We were over 100 passengers on the plane, it took a while until we all had found our belongings. In the meantime, I called my contact in Sao Paolo, and told her what happened. No problem, she says. The car should be there where you are now. Okay?

We drag our bags out on the gravel path. Indeed, there will be a happy guy in the 25-year-old. He throws the bags in an old Audi 100. He told me that he had seen the plane try to land all times from the ground. He thought it was exciting with a little drama. I told him that we thought the same. The wife was still quiet. I wondered how he had managed to run the five mile straight line from Ilhéus at the same time it took us to fly.

The race
I did not think long. We had 150 km to go there we would. He did it in one hour flat. It would certainly not have been so surprising if there had been a highway. It was not. It was a winding country road in Sweden would be limited to 70 or 90 km / h He drove the hell out of his Audi. I'm not afraid year, I have driven both STCC and Formula 3 in court. This guy was a real racing topic. There speed were between 120-190 km / h all the way through the jungle.

When I asked him about the risk of animal collision, he just smiles. There are no animals larger than crocodiles. The other animals will disappear when the car is washed. The biggest problem is the people, but they usually move away.

When we arrived at the lodge, my wife began to talk gradually again, after three glasses of wine and a beer. It's probably no chance that MS will have time to kill me.

There is other possibilities. ☺

Today
It has been a been s sunny day here in Stockholm. I think the spring has arrived. Blue sky and +5C. I need to come out for a wild. That was no problem with my Segway.
After the Rehab in Poland, I try to walk without crutches. They are giving me back-problems. Now, I can not walk more than 50 meter. Then the Segway give me an opportunity to be part of the spring.

Today my legs start shaking after 1 km. I just had to rest for 5 minutes the I could continue again. After one hour we was back home. We sat down with a cup of coffe/green tea in the sun.

Segway training...
The last autumn I bought a new X2 white big wheels. In December it was time for the Segway première. The first 10 centimetres of snow had come. I figured it could not be any problems with a Segway with big winter tires.

Oh how wrong I was. I made two spectacular falls. It was only just that I took myself out of snowdrifts. Then there was the next problem, getting Segway to ploughed surface. I got help from a couple who was out and was walking the dog. They just shook his head. I told them, "I'm a bit stupid, and I have proof of it."

AMEDS Training
Some parts of the videos from Poland...
